North Attleboro - Dale L. Nelson, 73, of North Attleboro passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He was the loving husband of Karen (Flanagan) Nelson for 37 years.
Born on October 26, 1948 in North Attleboro, he was the son of the late Herbert “Pete” Nelson and Helen M. (Curtis) Nelson.
Dale served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee from 1967 to 1971 having two tours in Vietnam.
Dale was the owner of Nelson Construction Co. in North Attleboro for 37 years before retiring in 2010.
Dale loved restoring antique cars, especially Model A Fords and early Corvettes, vacationing in the northern New England States, walks with Karen on the Cape Cod Canal, and his Friday night gatherings at his garage with his friends, which his son joined him in later years.
In addition to his wife, Karen, Dale is survived by his son Mark T. Nelson of North Attleboro, his brother Curtis P. Nelson of Wareham, MA, his sister Lisa K. Nelson of Attleboro Falls, MA, a sister-in-law, and a niece and a nephew.
Dale was the brother of the late Gary P. Nelson.
Karen and Mark would like to thank Dr. Steven Bensson of Attleboro Medical Associates, Dr. Alexandra Bailey of Dana Farber, Dr. Ronald H. Goldstein of the VA Boston Healthcare System along with Sarah and the rest of the staff on the oncology floor at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
At Dale’s request there will be no wake or funeral, however, a graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Towne Street, North Attleboro,MA at 10 a.m.
