ATTLEBORO  Barbara R. Labrie, 85, of Attleboro passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Life Care Center of Attleboro surrounded by her devoted family.  She was the wife of the late Gerard Labrie for 60 years prior to his death in 2012.

Born May 26, 1932 in Attleboro, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Doris (Bassett) McCluskey.

Barbara grew up in Attleboro and was a 1950 graduate of Attleboro High School.  She was a longtime resident of North Attleboro before moving to North Conway, NH in 1987. She recently returned to Attleboro to be near her daughter.

Barbara worked at Swanks and other local Attleboro area companies. She was happiest in her home, raising her children and being a homemaker. She loved to sew and paint. There were many adventurous years spent traveling with her husband Jerry and their friends in the Winnebago club they belonged to in NH. Barbara enjoyed all of the friends she made while working at Leavitt’s Country Bakery in Conway, NH, finally retiring in 2015.

She is survived by her three beloved children and their spouses: Diane Palmer and husband Bob of Attleboro, Mark Labrie of Center Conway N.H. and Cindy George and husband Doug of Deer Park, WA.

Seven grandchildren : Jenna Grondines, Justin Whitty, Christopher Whitty, Nicole Slosser, Kerri Richards, Becky George and Marion George

Three siblings: Louis, Willard and Howard McCluskey

Several nieces and nephews as well as six great-grandchildren

She enjoyed the company of her devoted sister-in-law, Lilliane Labrie of North Attleboro.

Barbara was the sister of the late Elizabeth Mujica and great-grandmother of the late Conner Grondines.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 58 Church Street, North Attleboro on Tuesday, September 12 at 10 a.m. followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls.

Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I knew Barbara from her time at Mountain View in Ossipee NH. I worked the 11-7 shift during her time there and we had many late night talks. I really enjoyed knowing Barbara and sincerely miss her. My thoughts are with her family at this time.

Diane and family,
I am sorry to read about your Mom's passing. She was a lovely person. I still use some of your Mom's baking recipes. Think of all the great memories with your parents that will get you through.
