Bill was a true gentle giant. He was the kindest of men, always lending a helping hand no matter what. He was a master landscaper who took pride in everything he did. He wanted everyone’s yard to look as good as his. Bill did not have one enemy in this world, not one and everyone who met him loved him. Bill & Miki met on a blind date in October 1995 and soul mates were born. For 22 years he had battled illness after illness including a perfect match kidney transplant in 2004 from his dear niece Tiffani Lopes, open heart surgery, diabetes along with numerous other challenges. He came through every one with flying colors. His body was tired and God brought him home on Sunday, August 20, 2017, his mother’s birthday.
Bill came to Cape Cod in the 1970’s as Prep Cook for his brother Carl who was Head Chef at Chatham Bars Inn, also working with brother Lenard, Sous Chef. In 1980 Cape Cod became his home. Bill was a maintenance worker for Comfort Inn and drove a route bus for Cape Cod Regional Transit until he had to retire in 2010 after heart attacks leading to his surgery. In disabled retirement Bill stayed busy maintaining a beautiful home with Miki and helping others any way he could with their landscaping. Before he passed he and Fred had completed a 4 month project to create a big garden, it will forever be known as the Bill Criscoe Victory Garden.
A memorial gathering is being planned for the Fall on Cape Cod. There will be a private burial in North Carolina at a later date.
