PLAINVILLE – David R. Laliberte, 72, of Messenger Street passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Boston Medical Center.
He was the loving husband of Grace (Cloutier) Laliberte for nearly 50 years.
Born December 4, 1944 in Pawtucket, RI, he was a son of the late Louis and Alma (DeGrenier) Laliberte.
David grew up in Attleboro and was a 1962 graduate of Attleboro High School. He lived in Woodstock, CT for over 20 years before moving to Plainville in 2012.
David worked at several local manufacturing companies including Creed Rosary and Poly Metallurgical both in North Attleboro. He worked for Frito Lay in Connecticut before retiring as a corrections officer in Mansfield, CT.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
David was a great athlete in his younger days and was a former first round selection of the Boston Red Sox as a pitcher.
He loved all sports but particularly baseball. He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Senior League at Chemawa Golf Course in Attleboro. He was incredibly friendly and made friends wherever he went. He also had a great sense of humor and loved practical jokes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters: Lisa Bradley and husband Daniel of Attleboro and Cheryl Laliberte of North Attleboro; three siblings: Dennis Laliberte, Darleen Bilodeau and Dean Laliberte and many nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Richard and Donald Laliberte.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 28 from 5-8 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday, June 29 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls.
