NORTH ATTLEBORO – Mariano Corvese, Jr.,92, of North Attleboro passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital surrounded by his devoted family. He was the husband of the late Norma (Rowles) Corvese for 70 years before her death in 2016.
Born January 29, 1925 in Providence, RI, he was a son of the late Mariano, Sr. and Concetta Melino. Mariano grew up in Providence before moving to North Attleboro over 50 years ago.
He worked at Cavalieri Construction for 30 years before retiring. In retirement, he worked as a security guard at Showcase Cinema in North Attleboro for several years.
Mariano was an avid sports fan and loved the Patriots and Red Sox.
He is survived by two children: David Corvese and wife Elaine of Attleboro and Marsha Laflamme of Manville, RI;
He was grandfather of Lisa LaFratta of North Attleboro, Lora Costinos of Attleboro, Heather Laflamme of Lincoln, RI and Jeffrey Laflamme of Newton; and great-grandfather of: Samantha, Ali, Haleigh, Nicholas, Sophia and Dominic.
He is also survived by a sister Domenica “Mamie” Rivera of Delaware. He was brother of the late Frank and Anthony Corvese and Anna D’Affuso.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Church, 105 Stanley Street, Attleboro Falls on Tuesday, April 18 at 10 a.m. Visiting will be held in the church prior to the Mass from 9-10 a.m. and burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston, RI.
