NORTH ATTLEBORO- Roger Louis Mercier, 80, of North Attleboro passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his residence.
Born March 28, 1936, in Attleboro, he was the son of the late Ovida and Jeannette (LaPierre) Mercier.
Roger attended Attleboro High School. He was a member of the National Guard. Roger served the town of North Attleboro for over 30 years as a firefighter and a police officer.
Roger is survived by his six children: Jeffrey Mercier and his wife Wendy of Attleboro, Lynn Coelho and husband Brian of Attleboro, Jeanne Perrault and husband Ken of Harrison, Maine, Roger Mercier, Jr. and wife Jody of Attleboro, Suzanne Whitney and husband William of Greenville, TX, Beth Perrault and husband Tom of North Attleboro; his former wife Dolores Mercier of Attleboro; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, including Harlyn Ros who he was very close to, and 2 on the way. His sisters: Marilyn Corbett of Attleboro, and Gloria Gaudreau of Attleboro; his brother: David Mercier of
Lincoln, RI; his son’s partner: Susan Hatch of Bridgton, Maine and many nieces and nephews.
Roger was the father of the late Mark Mercier.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 with a funeral Mass in St. Mark’s Church, 105 Stanley St., Attleboro Falls, MA at 10 a.m. Burial will be held a later date.
