NORTH ATTLEBORO- Marilyn D. “Lou” Lovenbury, 91, of North Attleboro passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Arthur Lovenbury who passed away in 1997.
Born in Attleboro, MA on August 12, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Russell A. and Hilda (Cotton) Dow.
Marilyn grew up in North Attleboro attended North Attleboro Schools and was a 1943 graduate of North Attleboro High School.
In her earlier years, she worked as a saleswomen for Dow’s Dress Shop in North Attleboro, which was owned by her father.
After marrying Arthur, she spent her time as a homemaker and was devoted to raising her son.
Marilyn was a member of the North Attleboro Historical Society for several years. She loved cooking and listening to big bands. Marilyn was an avid Frank Sinatra fan. She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, North Attleboro.
Marilyn is survived by her son: Russell Lovenbury and his wife Donna of North Attleboro; her grandchildren: Erin Weeman and her husband Ethan of North Attleboro, and Jenna Cooper and her husband Phillip of North Attleboro; 3 great-grandchildren Aidan and Sydney Weeman of North Attleboro and Owen Cooper of North Attleboro. She also leaves several nephews.
She was the sister of the late James and Leroy Dow and the late Barbara Mott
Visiting for Marilyn will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4 to 7 pm in the Sperry McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro followed by a service at 7 Pm.
