PAWTUCKET, RI – Steven James Leo Lacasse, 31, of Pawtucket and a longtime resident of North Attleboro passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at home.

Born October 28, 1985 on Ft. Bragg, NC, he is survived by his father, Steven J. Lacasse and wife Joanne of Attleboro and his mother Brenda (Johnson) Mylod and husband Byron of Pawtucket.

Steven grew up in North Attleboro and was a 2004 graduate of Tri-County Regional High School in Franklin.  He also lived several years in Attleboro.

After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Bamberg Army Base in Germany.  He served a two-year tour in Afghanistan and a year tour in Iraq with the 370th Engineering Company Bravo Team before being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 2014 after 10 years of service.  He also trained with the 82nd Airborne Division.

He loved camping, fishing and going to casinos.  He also cherished time spent with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers: Donnie Lacasse of Woonsocket, RI, Justin Lacasse of Attleboro and Nicholas Lacasse of Pawtucket;

2 step-sisters: Stacy Barry of North Attleboro and Cassandra Mylod of Pawtucket;

2 step-brothers: Thomas DeVisscher and wife Melissa of Fayetville, NC and Matthew Mylod of Pawtucket; many aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews and also survived by his best friends Matthew Black, Andy Plante and Paul Lori.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 12 from 4-8 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro.  A graveside service will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Steven’s name may be made to Lenore’s Pantry, 43 South Washington Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760.

To Brenda and family, To Steve and family.We send our love to both of Steven families, Who we know loves Steven so much,And so proud of him.
Our family, remember, Steve, has a young , boy. Good kid. After 10 years in the army. Places he served and time served. He was an American hero. God bless you young Steve and we know your home with God. God will take care of you now
