PLAINVILLE – Roger V. Fredette, 81, of Kylee Drive passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.  He was the loving husband to the late Jean (Overstreet) Fredette.

Born in New Bedford, MA on April 26, 1935, he was the son of the late Valmore and Madelyn (Pike) Fredette.

Roger grew up in New Bedford and South Boston.  He joined the Air Force at 17 years old and was a veteran of the Korean War.

He loved the art of photography and spent his time discovering and exploring family history through genealogy.

Roger is survived by 4 loving children: Michelle and husband Louis Pelletier of Cranston, RI; Michael and wife Donna Fredette of North Carolina; Thomas and wife Susan Fredette of Centerville, MA; Paul and wife Sandy Fredette of South Attleboro, MA.  Cherished grandchildren: Amanda and Erin Fredette, Jennifer and Ryan Pelletier, Jason and wife Mimi Gibbs; Amy and husband Matt McMahon.  Adored great-grandchildren: Isabella, Lily and Jackson Gibbs; Kirten, Kaylee and Sophia McMahon.

He is also survived by his 4 siblings Claire Fredette of Uxbridge, MA; Loretta Fredette of Oregan; Dennis Fredette of Cambridge; Robert Fredette of Texas.

He was brother of the late Lorraine Fredette.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 2-4pm at the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home 15 Grove St. North Attleboro, MA  followed by a prayer service promptly starting at 4pm.  Burial will be private at a later date.

Sincerest Sympathies to my Dearest Friend, Dennis Fredette of Cambridge and also to Tommy & Sue and the entire Fredette family. Although I did not know Roger, he must have been a great guy with a name like ROGER.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Fredette, he has always been a great neighbor and friend to my parents over 40+ years. He will surely be missed.
