John J. Chaplow 09/18/2016

NORTH ATTLEBORO- John J. Chaplow, 90, of Mendon Rd. passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his residence.  He was the husband of Santa (Petel) Chaplow.

John, the son of William and Theresa (Mulcahey) Chaplow, was born April 1, 1926 in Berkley, MA .

He grew up in Central Falls, RI and was a 1943 graduate of Central Falls High School.  He also lived in Pawtucket , RI before moving to North Attleboro 65 years ago.

John was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Army from 1944-1946.

He was employed with Alumiline Corp. of Lincoln, RI; Graham Glass of Cranston, RI and worked as an estimator for Vista Walls in Rhode Island.

John was a staunch Red Sox and Patriot fan and he always had a joke to tell.

In addition to his wife, Santa, John is survived by his sons:  Joseph Chaplow and his wife My of Attleboro, William Chaplow and his wife Linda of Taunton, and John Chaplow of North Attleboro; his brother:  Jim Chaplow of Virgina;  his sister:  Constance Bloomer of Lincoln, RI; and grandchildren:  Terry, Jesse, Lacey, Jacob, and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Sperry McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro on Monday September 26 at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro at 10 a.m.  Burial with military honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Attleboro.

Dearest Uncle Jack,

May you sleep....open your eyes and see the Glory of God welcoming you. I'm sure that you will have just the perfect joke to share that will make everyone there smile as well. You were loved and will be truly missed. The world was better because of you.
